Welcome to part two of the building Stilistic tutorial. In the last tutorial we went over the process
of actually creating the orb. In this tutorial we will bring it to life with some simple animation.
Before we start, I'll give you a little info on the way we're going to use animation. If you use Flash
this should sound familiar to you. We're going to use Cinema4D's Automatic Keyframing, which is pretty
much the same as Flash's Motion Tweening. What this does is, when given the star point and end point
of an object it will create the frames in the middle. Alright, enough chatting lets get started.
First we need to enable Automatic Keyframing. To do this go to
Animation > Autokeyframing on
the main toolbar. You can also press the Automatic Keyframing button on the animation bar:
Now, under the main view window, you should see a blueish button that says 0 F, click and drag this button
to the left until it says 30 F
One last thing before we set all the rendering stuff. We need to add the finish point for our animation.
Make sure you have completed the previous step before doing this. If you have completed the previous
step the blue frame button should say 30 F like show in the previous image.
So now selete the object you want to add the animation to (in our cause there's more than one object
so we will select the HyperNURB in the object manager since all our objects are contained in the hyperNURB)
With the object seleted change the
H Rotation to 180 in the
coordiante manager
Now we need to change the rendering settings. Open up the rendering settings (
Render > Render
Settings ).
On the
General Tab you will need to change the
Antialiasing mode
to
Best .
On the
Output Tab change
Resolution to whatever resolution youd
like. Now change Film Format to
Automatic . Finially change
Frame 0F
- 30F (theres 2 spaces leave the first at 0F and change the second to 30F).
Next on the
Save Tab change the
Path to whatever path you would
like. I recommend using a new folder because there will be 30 new images, plus its easier to imort images
to animate them this way. Finally change the
Format to TARGA (you can use any image
format I just prefer Targa).
Now we are set to render. We need to render to Picture view so go to
Render > Render To Picture
View .
It will take a little while to render because you're going to be rendering 30 frames. After the images
are rendered you will have 30 new images in your new folder. Ta Da, we can make a animation.
There are two programs I use to make animation, Flash and Adobe ImageReady. Flash will produs the best
final result, but ImageReady is good for making smaller animations such as icons. Ill go through the
process of creating the animation in both (both are very easy)
In ImageReady, go to
File > Import > Folder as Frame... . You will need to delete the
last frame, if you dont your animation will pause afterit spins halfway around. Here's my result using
ImageReady (not very good quality)
In Flash, create a new document. Next go to
File > Import > Import to Stage . Select
the first image of the animation sequence. After you click Open (or double-click) the image to import,
a box will pop up saying
The image appears to be part of a sequence of images. Do you want to
import all the images in the sequence? click yes. This will place each image on its own frame.
Wah-la... well heres my result using Flash (much nice than a gif)
