RSS Autoresponders...A Marketers NEW Best Friend


Like many marketers I believe that content is king. Having good, relevant, regularly updated content for your site users and subscribers is one of the most effective ways to maintain traffic and market prescence....Not to mention it offers the search engines some good food too!



However, offering great content is only one aspect of maintaing good customer contact. One of the most effective ways in maintaining customer relationships is through autoresponders.

Autoresponders reply to incoming e-mail messages automatically. A traditional autoresponder can be used to send "more information" to persons who send e-mail to a specific address, such as info@whatever.com. If you have ever sent an e-mail and had an automatic reply (within five minutes), it was probably generated by an autoresponder.

Many customers will visit your site and leave you their e-mail address for more information. However, a majority of your permission-based autoresponse messages will either be flagged as spam or find their way into that prospects recycle bin. Not good. It has been researched that nearly 33% of all e-mails do not make it to the end users inbox because of aggressive spam filters.

A great alternative to conventional autoresponders is Really Simple Syndication (RSS) Autoresponders. With the mainstreaming of RSS more and more Web savvy professionals and surfers are jumping on the RSS train.

Since RSS messages are imported directly to the desktop you can be assured 100% of your marketing articles and updates will reach your prospects. No longer do you have to worry about aggressive spam filters, generic e-mail acounts like hotmail and yahoo, or losing subscribers after e-mail changes.

In January of this year Harvard Law published an article identifying "...an ongoing survey of the 120 million Americans using the Internet, found that 5 percent follow their favorite sources through RSS syndication." This number is only going to explode by the end of 2005. In order for your businesses to flourish in an ever fluctuating market you need to remain abreast of the latest marketing technologies.

If you're already using conventional autoresponders you should definately experiment with the effectiveness of using RSS Autoresponders...they are a marketers new best friend!
