.NET Framework Service Pack 2
Download the .NET Framework Service Pack 2
Hot on the heels of the recent Windows 2000 Service Pack 3
(Win2000SP3),
Microsoft recently released the .NET Framework Service Pack 2.
Here's the usual blurb from the folks at Redmond:
Microsoft .NET Framework Service Pack 2 provides the latest updates to the .NET
Framework. Service Pack 2 is highly recommended for all users of the .NET
Framework, including customers of Visual Studio .NET.
As always the service pack is cumulative so if you haven't yet installed
.NET SP1, this one will bring you up to date anyway. Taking a look
through the things fixed in this release, I didn't see anything
that makes it a must upgrade, but there are a decent
number of fixes in it and unless you have a reason not to it's probably
best to stay up to date.
The download is only about 6.5MB and went off without a hitch on my
Win2000 Pro machine. A couple people on some of the listservers
have mentioned having a little trouble, but nothing outside the norm.
Most people who have had trouble installing the download version
have been able to go to Windows Update and have gotten it installed
from there without any problems.
